When I first saw the “100 Books To Read in a Lifetime” on Goodreads I was intrigued. As an avid reader I immediately started looking at the list to see what was included and tallying up how many I had read. I was surprised I had only read a little more than half. I also wanted to read the rest! This got me thinking about how I could take this list and make it into a fun gift to give. I made a bookmark for each group of ten books that you present to the gift recipient with a checkbox the giftee can check off or hole punch as they finish the books. Super fun!!
This reading gift is one of my favorites because it:
- Can be given to SO many different types of people: Men, women, teens. Grandparents, parents, siblings, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, co-workers, bosses…etc etc.
- Can be given for any occasion: Birthday, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Graduation, going away etc.
- Is valuable: Jane Hamilton said, “It is books that are the key to the wide world; if you can’t do anything else, read all that you can. ” This list of “100 Books To Read in a Lifetime” was compiled by Goodreads readers and has books of all genres about people from all over the world.
- Works for any budget: There are 100 books on the list, but you can give as few or as many as you’d like for a gift. You could start out giving the first ten books and the corresponding bookmark/checklist for a Christmas gift. You could also give one book plus the bookmark…or 100 books and 10 bookmarks. However many you can afford or want to give.
- Can be your go-to-gift for multiple holidays: If you start giving the 100 Books To Read in a Lifetime to someone, you can continue gifting it to them for future holidays. Give them five books for their birthday, ten more books for Christmas, three more for Father’s Day. Automatic gift idea with little effort=Suhweet!
