Random Acts of Kindness Kits for Kids!

Obviously I love gifts, and hopefully if you’ve been reading for awhile you realize that my favorite part of gifts is the giving! I love seeing someone’s face light up when I’ve picked the very perfect gift for them. This is why Random Acts of Kindness are right up my alley. When I found out this week is RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) week I was so excited. From February 12-18, the goal is to “turn the world kind” by encouraging everyone to find small ways to show kindness to others.

The Random Acts of Kindness foundation put together a list of benefits that we receive from participating in RAK including increased energy and esteem, better heart health, and increased lifespan and happiness. Say what?! It’s good for us and it is SO MUCH FUN!

Of course I wanted a way to spread this RAK love with my kiddos but realized with school in session the best place for them to participate in RAK week is at school.  So I decided to create a RAK Kit.

What’s in it

These kits are pretty simple, because that’s what RAK are all about. No need to over complicate things, just be kind! In each kit is a list of tasks for them to do during the week with check boxes. I made two different lists because, let’s face it, elementary school and middle school or high school are very different worlds!

In the Elementary RAK Kit I included a page of stickers and some small hard candies taped to encouraging notes. My daughter is excited to leave these secretly in people’s desks. Some of the elementary tasks are: Smile at 3 people, pick up and throw away trash on the playground or in your classroom and help someone with their schoolwork.

In the middle/high school RAK kit I included a new pack of gum (to give away a stick at a time!) $5 (to give to the lunch people and pay anonymously for someone’s lunch) and small candies with encouraging notes to leave around school.  Some other tasks listed are to sit by someone who looks lonely at lunch and talk to them and tell your teachers thank you.

I just threw all of the items into a ziploc bag and I’m sending them with my kids to school this week. I can’t wait to hear about how their fun tasks go and if they think they helped spread love and kindness!

How to make yours

These are fun and simple and I hope that they can inspire kid and make them excited to participate in RAK week and spread kindness and love all over the world! It’s easy to print off the list and candy tags, if you have already signed up for the Gifty Girl Printables library you will find the documents to print in there. If you haven’t, simply put in your email address in the form below and get your passcode for access to these printables and lots of other fun gift printables and ideas.

Happy Gifting (and RAKing!)

Steph
