It’s Summertime! Gift for kids

$10 at Target Summertime Gift idea for kids

I’m so excited to be a new host for a monthly $10 at Target challenge! Each month, we will bravely enter the doors of Target armed with only $10. Then we will share our awesome finds…because everyone needs another excuse to go to Target, right?

This month I went into Target with a gift in mind. At the end of each school year (18 more days wahoo!) I get my kids a little something to celebrate the end of a great school year and the beginning of an amazing summer! It’s never anything terribly expensive…I always include a new book or set of books to encourage reading, and then some fun summer “essentials.”

As inspiration, I made up a little “Summer Blessing” like the beautiful Irish Blessings you might’ve seen around St. Patrick’s Day. It says:

May your books be filled with adventure
Your popsicles plentiful
Your water gun always filled
Your pool time perfection.
May you always have good friends close by
and may your summer be AMAZING.

I made this into a super cute printable you can download (for free!) by signing up for my Gift Printables Resource Library below. It will give you access to all of the fun gift printables I have on The Gifty Girl!

What’s in this gift

I tried to stay away from the Dollar Spot because those can vary so much by store. I know I’ve been frustrated before when I see something awesome in a blog then I can’t find it at my own Target Dollar Spot! The two things I did get there could be easily replaced by similar items in the normal part of the store.

You might notice the lack of said Otter Pops in my picture, because THEY WERE OUT OF OTTER POPS. What?! I saw them in the same Target not too long ago, so apparently there was a run on them recently. You will need to use your imagination.

This “It’s Summertime Gift” can also be modified if you wanted to use it as a gift for your kids to give to a bunch of friends. The same tag could be used with just an Otter pop attached to make it super inexpensive.

Or you could attach it to just one of the items mentioned in the tag like a beach ball, a water squirter, or a book.

You could even put together a basket of items for your family (or someone else’s family!) including water guns, books, a beach ball, and some popsicles!

Who this Gift is for:

My kids love to get something fun on the last day of school. Grandmas could package this up for grandkids, kids could give it to their friends (using the modifications to make them less expensive), teachers could give it to their students!

More $10 at Target

I had so much fun in this month’s challenge and hope to get your input on what gift I should shop for in June. Are you ready to see more of what $10 can get you at Target?

Thank you for stopping by and as always, Happy Gifting!
